Safety at Santa Cruz Maker Studios:
At Santa Cruz Maker Studios, safety is our top priority. During our summer camp programs, students engage in hands-on activities using hand tools only, kids do not use power tools in youth woodworking activities. Our woodworking benches and tools are carefully selected and adjusted to suit the height and strength of learners, ensuring ergonomic and safe usage throughout their projects.
All participants are asked to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety goggles while in the workshop, and must arrive in shop-safe attire (closed-toe shoes, long hair tied back, no loose clothing). Campers are always supervised by instructors who guide tool use, support skill development, and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
