Robot Series Overview

Spark curiosity and inspire innovation with our 3-week Robot Series! Designed for youth and teens, this hands-on STEM program gives students the opportunity to build, program, and explore robotics in a fun, supportive environment.

Over three Sunday sessions, participants will learn engineering and programming fundamentals while completing exciting challenges and bringing their robot to life. Whether your child is brand new to robotics or already loves STEM, they’ll gain valuable skills, make new friends, and have a great time creating.

Robot Walle

“I loved getting to build my own robot all by myself” – Student, Age 7

“I liked robot week because I got to build and program a robot and take it home. It was a lot of fun.” – Student, Age 10

What You’ll Experience

Over the course of three weeks, students will design, build, and program their very own remote-controlled robot. Each session builds on the previous one, allowing participants to develop new skills while bringing their project to life. Every class is hands on, with students actively building, testing, and programming their robots while working through fun engineering challenges.

Youth and Teen Robot Series

We offer two age groups so students can learn alongside peers with similar interests and experience levels.

Youth Robot Series (Ages 7-12) meets Sundays from 10:00am-12:00pm and is perfect for beginners and younger makers who are excited to explore robotics through hands-on building, programming, and creative challenges.

Teen Robot Series (Ages 11-17) meets Sundays from 12:30pm-2:30pm and is designed for older students and experienced makers looking for a more advanced robotics experience with increasingly complex engineering and programming challenges.

Not sure which class is the best fit?
We offer two age groups so students can learn alongside peers with similar interests and experience levels. Students ages 11-12 are welcome to register for either the Youth or Teen Robot Series. This overlap allows families to choose the class that best matches their child’s experience level, confidence, and interests. If you’re unsure which session is right for your child, we’d be happy to help!

Common Robot Series FAQ’s

What ages is the Robot Series for?

We offer two age groups so students can learn alongside peers with similar ages and experience levels.

  • Youth Robot Series: Ages 7-12 (Sundays, 10:00am-12:00pm)
  • Teen Robot Series: Ages 11-17 (Sundays, 12:30pm-2:30pm)

Students ages 11-12 are welcome to join either group based on their experience level and interests.

Does my child need robotics experience?

Not at all! Our Robot Series is designed for beginners while still offering engaging challenges for students with prior robotics experience. Our instructors provide guidance every step of the way.

Is the Robot Series the same every time??

Not at all! Students are welcome to join the Robot Series more than once. Returning makers will continue building on what they’ve already learned by taking on more advanced robotics projects, programming challenges, and engineering concepts. Our instructors tailor the experience to each student’s skill level, so there’s always a new challenge waiting.

 What should my child bring?

All robotics materials, tools, and equipment are provided. Please have your child wear closed toe shoes (no crocs) and bring a water-bottle/snacks as needed for the class.

Is the Robot Series different from Maker Sundays?

The Robot Series is a structured, three-week robotics program where students work through a guided project to build, program, and complete their own remote-controlled robot.

The Robot Series takes place during the same time as Maker Sundays, so students also have access to the other maker zones and activities during their session if they’d like to explore them while working on their robot.

My child has a Maker Sundays Semester Pass. Can they still participate in the Robot Series?

Absolutely! Students with a Maker Sundays Semester Pass can extend their experience by joining the Robot Series for an additional $100 per robot. They’ll work alongside the other Robot Series students while building and programming their robot at their own pace during their regular Maker Sundays session.

What if my child misses a class?

If your child misses a Robot Series session, they are welcome to make it up by attending another Robot Series session, if space is available, or during a regular Maker Sunday (excluding Special Event Sundays). Our instructors will help them catch up so they can continue making progress on their robot.

If your child will be absent due to unforeseen circumstances, please email us (admin@scmakerstudios.com) and we can help arrange the best make-up option.

Can we mix and match Robot Series or switch sessions?

The Robot Series is designed as a three-week progressive program, so we encourage students to stay enrolled in the same series for the best learning experience. However, if you need flexibility with scheduling, please email us and we will do our best to accommodate based on availability.
